Conservation of Whale Shark Habitat with Konservasi Indonesia
Mowilex has committed to supporting Konservasi Indonesia’s (KI) efforts in strengthening ecotourism programs and protecting whale shark habitats in the development of a whale shark-based conservation area managed through a ridge-to-reef approach.
This support contributes to KI’s work in improving the management of 1500 km2 of marine area in Saleh Bay, Sumbawa. Through a combination of policy advocacy, community conservation outreach, and effective monitoring and surveillance, KI aims to identify and monitor the endangered whale shark population while collaborating with local communities to establish eco-friendly tourism practices. These initiatives provide a strong incentive for long-term conservation efforts in this remarkable marine area.
